Cuidados de enfermería en pacientes pediátricos que reciben tratamiento de quimioterapia

Resumen
Introducción: El personal de enfermería en los cuidados del paciente pediátrico, debe tener
nociones sobre la enfermedad, conocer a fondo la psicología normal, tener nociones sobre la
enfermedad en sí misma, los potenciales efectos secundarios del tratamiento ser capaz de
comprender el impacto emocional tanto para el paciente como para los familiares. Objetivo:
Determinar los cuidados de enfermería en pacientes pediátricos que reciben tratamiento de
quimioterapia. Metodología: con una modalidad cuantitativa, investigación de campo y
descriptiva, se aplicó una entrevista a 40 profesionales de Enfermería del Hospital Oncológico
Sociedad De Lucha Contra El Cáncer “SOLCA”. Resultado: Se demostró que el 75% del personal
de enfermería tenía de 20 a 30 años, el 80% eran mujeres, el 80% eran licenciadas, el 85% trabaja
12 horas, el 50% en la mañana, el 40% tiene más 12 meses trabajando, el 50% tiene más de 12
pacientes, el 100% conoce los protocolos de quimioterapia, el 80% aplica el POLA, el 100%
conoce y aplica los protocolos de bioseguridad, el 100% maneja el reservorio subcutáneo, así
mismo el 100% refiere que recibe capacitaciones. Referente a los cuidados es evidente que la
mayoría con llevados a cabalidad, antes, durante y después de la atención del paciente pediátrico.
Conclusión: El cuidado de enfermería es cumplido por la mayoría del personal en estudio; es
evidente que debido a las exigencias de los cuidados que deben brindar, el personal debe poseer el
conocimiento y la formación necesaria para dar una mejor atención, creando un ambiente que
proporciones bienestar físico y emocional al paciente y a sus familiares.

Result: It was shown that 75% of the nursing staff were between 20 and 30 years old, 80% were women, 80% were licensed, 85% work 12 hours, 50% in the morning, 40% have more 12 months working, 50% have more than 12 patients, 100% know the chemotherapy protocols, 80% apply the POLA, 100% know and apply the biosafety protocols, 100% handle the subcutaneous reservoir, likewise 100% refer that they receive training. Regarding the care, it is evident that most of it is fully carried out, before, during and after the care of the pediat ric patient. Conclusion: Nursing care is fulfilled by the majority of the personnel under study; It is evident that due to the demands of the care they must provide, the staff must have the knowledge and training necessary to provide better care, creating an environment that provides physical and emotional well-being to the patient and their families.
