Resumen
La presente investigación se realizó con estudiantes universitarios que presentaron síntomas de
estrés durante su adaptación a la modalidad virtual. Por ello, el objeto de estudio son los estudiantes de
octavo semestre en modalidad virtual durante su proceso de enseñanza; con el objetivo de caracterizar
el estrés académico como consecuencia de la modalidad virtual; respondiendo a la pregunta eje: ¿Cómo
se manifestó el estrés académico en los estudiantes de octavo semestre de la carrera de psicología
durante la modalidad virtual?. La metodología fue cualitativa de alcance descriptivo, las fuentes
información fueron los informes de: entrevistas, grupo focal, encuestas y observación. En la reflexión
crítica, se destaca que los factores del contexto de la pandemia fueron agravantes del estrés académico
como: la adaptación a la virtualidad, crisis económica, perdidas familiares y el aislamiento social. Como
conclusión, hubo una focalización negativa al enfrentar el estrés académico, manifestado a través de
sentimientos adversos
The present research was conducted with university students who presented symptoms of stress during their adaptation to the virtual modality. Therefore, the object of study are the eighth semester students in virtual modality during their teaching process; with the objective of characterizing academic stress because of the virtual modality; answering the main question: How was academic stress manifested in eighth semester students of the psychology career during the virtual modality? The methodology was qualitative of descriptive scope, the sources of information were the reports of interviews, focus group, surveys, and observation. In the critical reflection, it is highlighted that the contextual factors of the pandemic were aggravating factors of academic stress such as: adaptation to virtuality, economic crisis, family losses and social isolation. As a conclusion, there was a negative focus when facing academic stress, manifested through adverse feelings
