Economic growth is one of the most representative indicators within an economy, its measurement is through the GDP, within a country there are reforms or policies that influence various objectives in order to achieve benefits for society and the nation. Another fundamental indicator to know how rich or poor a country is, is the Human Development Index, which comprises three aspects: education, health and quality of life; it is obtained based on indicators such as: life expectancy, mortality rate and income per person. This last indicator is also known as GDP per capita, arithmetically it is to divide the income of a country for the number of inhabitants, however, it does not reflect an equity in salaries, existing social inequality. The purpose of this work is to show the problems that exist within productivity during the period 2001-2020, which do not allow economic growth and social aspects such as poverty to improve. The approach of this research is descriptive and quantitative; the deductive, non-experimental method and bibliographic synthesis were used for its development.
