Resumen
Introducción: La higiene bronquial tiene como base fundamental mantener
la permeabilidad y el correcto despeje de las vías aéreas superiores e inferiores
de los pacientes con determinada patología respiratoria; es por así que la
valoración inicial del paciente hipersecretor permite reconocer su intervención a
realizarse en el manejo de su patología. Objetivo: Determinar las técnicas de
higiene bronquial que aplican los terapistas respiratorios del hospital Dr. Abel
Gilbert Pontón en el manejo de pacientes EPOC. Metodología: Esta
investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño descriptivo, trasversal
y prospectivo; la población fue de 48 profesionales de terapia respiratoria que
laboran en el hospital de especialidades Abel Gilbert Pontón, en ello se aplicó
criterios de investigación para la selección de la muestra de 42 profesionales
con el fin de aplicar un cuestionario de preguntas respecto a las técnicas de
higiene bronquial que aplican en el manejo de pacientes EPOC. Conclusión:
Se puede determinar que el uso de la fisioterapia respiratoria instrumental como
es la vibración y percusión; y el uso de la tos eficaz con la rehabilitación permite
alcanzar una adecuada remoción de secreciones beneficiando un aclaramiento
mucociliar eficiente para el adecuado intercambio de gases.
Introduction: Bronchial hygiene is fundamentally based on maintaining the permeability and correct clearance of the upper and lower airways of patients with a certain respiratory pathology; It is for this reason that the initial assessment of the hypersecretory patient allows recognizing his intervention to be carried out in the management of his pathology. Objective: To determine the bronchial hygiene techniques applied by the respiratory therapists of the Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón hospital in the management of COPD patients. Methodology: This research has a quantitative approach with a descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective design; The population was 48 respiratory therapy professionals who work in the Abel Gilbert Pontón Specialty Hospital, in which research criteria were applied for the selection of the sample of 42 professionals in order to apply a questionnaire of questions regarding the techniques of bronchial hygiene applied in the management of COPD patients. Conclusion: It can be determined that the use of instrumental respiratory physiotherapy such as vibration and percussion; and the use of effective cough with rehabilitation allows achieving an adequate removal of secretions, benefiting efficient mucociliary clearance for adequate gas exchange.
