Resumen
Objetivo: Medir el grado de conocimiento sobre el manejo de anestésicos locales en los estudiantes del 10mo semestre de la Clínica Integral de Odontopediatría de la Universidad de Guayaquil. Método: El presente estudio fue analítico sintético, el cual estuvo constituido por 76 estudiantes del 10mo semestre legalmente matriculados en la Clínica Integral de Odontopediatría, para la medición del grado de conocimiento de los anestésicos locales en Odontopediatría se elaboró una encuesta con un cuestionario de 8 preguntas previamente validado por expertos en el área de Odontopediatría y Metodología el cual fue enviado a todos los estudiantes del 10mo semestre del cual 31 estudiantes de los 76 no participaron en dicha encuesta. Resultados: El nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo de anestésicos locales en los estudiantes de Odontopediatría fue regular con un 75% en el tema de farmacocinética y mecanismos de acción de los anestésicos locales, mientras que en el tema de indicaciones y contraindicaciones de los anestésicos los estudiantes del 10mo semestre tienen un conocimiento bueno con un 93% y en el tema de complicaciones locales y sistémica los estudiantes tienen un nivel bajo con un 64%. Conclusión: Los estudiantes de la Clínica Integral de Odontopediatría de la Universidad de Guayaquil tienen un grado de conocimiento regular en el cual se deben dar reforzamiento para poder brindar una atención de primera y de calidad a los pacientes atendidos en la Clínica Integral de Odontopediatría. Recomendación: Revisar el syllabus para que los estudiantes complementen estas falencias en el área de farmacología.Abstract
Objective: To measure the degree of knowledge of the management of local anesthetics in 10th semester students of the Pediatric Dentistry Comprehensive Clinic of the University of Guayaquil. Method The present study was a synthetic analytical study, which consisted of 76 10th semester students legally enrolled in the Pediatric Dentistry Comprehensive Clinic. To measure the level of knowledge of local anesthetics in Pediatric Dentistry, a survey was prepared with a questionnaire of 8 questions previously validated by experts in the area of Pediatric Dentistry and Methodology, which was sent to all the 10th semester students, of which 31 students of the 76 did not participate in the survey. Results: The level of knowledge on the management of local anesthetics in the Pediatric Dentistry students was regular with 76% in the subject of pharmacokinetics and mechanisms of action of local anesthetics, while in the subject of indications and contraindications of anesthetics the 10th semester students have a good knowledge with 93% and in the subject of local and systemic complications the students have a low level with 64%. Conclusion: The students of the Comprehensive Pediatric Dentistry Clinic of the University of Guayaquil have a regular degree of knowledge in which they should be reinforced in order to be able to provide first class and quality attention to the patients attended in the Comprehensive Pediatric Dentistry Clinic. Recommendation: To review the syllabus for students to complement these deficiencies in the area of pharmacology.
