Resumen
La relación de la sinusitis odontogénica con la comunicación bucosinusal post exodoncia, es una conexión peculiar entre las cavidades bucales y antrales la cual está expuesta a la saliva y otros contaminantes. Debido a esto puede ser causada por varios factores en el que es determinante tener información de la etiología. A partir de lo indicado, la presente investigación tiene el objetivo general de determinar la relación de la sinusitis odontogénica con la comunicación bucosinusal post exodoncia y su tratamiento. La metodología tiene un enfoque cualitativo, debido a que este trabajo está basado en el análisis de información científica de diferentes fuentes académicas, por lo que fue fundamental recaudar información en bases de datos científicas y académicas, entre las que resaltaron Scielo, Pubmed, Redalyc, International Journal Of Odontostomatology, Medigraphic, entre otros. Los resultados revelaron que existe una estrecha relación entre la sinusitis odontogénica y una comunicación bucosinusal debido a exposición a saliva y otros contaminantes bucales presentes que, durante un largo tiempo, esto aumenta el riesgo de infección antral. En conclusión, se estableció que el tratamiento de la sinusitis maxilar no sigue un protocolo, por ende, es importante que el odontólogo tenga la capacidad de tratar dicha afección y el enlace que existe con la cavidad bucal al momento de una extracción dental posterior. De tal manera, que se realice un óptimo tratamiento quirúrgico o no quirúrgico según el tamaño, nivel y tiempo de la afectación.Abstract
The relationship of odontogenic sinusitis with the buccosinusal communication after exodontia is a peculiar connection between the buccal and antral cavities which is exposed to saliva and other contaminants. Because of this it can be caused by several factors in which it is determinant to have information of the etiology. Based on the above, the present investigation has the general objective of determining the relationship of odontogenic sinusitis with the buccosinusal communication after exodontia and its treatment. The methodology has a qualitative approach, because this work is based on the analysis of scientific information from different academic sources, so it was essential to collect information in scientific and academic databases, including Scielo, Pubmed, Redalyc, International Journal Of Odontostomatology, Medigraphic, among others. The results revealed that there is a close relationship between odontogenic sinusitis and an oral-nasal communication due to exposure to saliva and other oral contaminants present and that, over a long period of time, this increases the risk of antral infection. In conclusion, it was established that the treatment of maxillary sinusitis does not follow a protocol; therefore, it is important that the dentist has the ability to treat this condition and the link that exists with the oral cavity at the time of a subsequent dental extraction. In such way that an optimal surgical or non-surgical treatment is carried out according to the size, level and time of the affectation.
