Resumen
La demanda de sustitución de dientes ausentes por una
prótesis, está estimulada por el deseo de mejorar la
apariencia, la función o remplazar una prótesis existente
insatisfactoria. El grado de exigencia del paciente respecto a la
función bucal depende en gran medida de factores
geográficos, culturales y socioeconómicos; en las sociedades
no industrializadas las demandas del paciente tienden a
centrarse en la masticación y la ausencia de dolor, mientras
que en países industrializados la principal preocupación es el
aspecto social de la comunicación; en estos países, en las
últimas décadas ha adquirido una importancia cada vez mayor
el aspecto y la apariencia
El diseño de la prótesis parcial removible debe cumplir tres
requisitos básicos: soporte, estabilidad y retención; sin
embargo, el paciente también espera que la restauración
mejore su masticación, fonética y estética; adicionalmente la
prótesis debe mantener la salud de los tejidos bucales
remanentes.
En este estudio investigativo se pretende establecer los
diferentes beneficios que predominan entre una prótesis
mucosoportada o de acrílico y entre las dentomucosoportadas
o metalicas, es decir entre un producto y otro, comparándolas
en las mismas características aunque tiene cualidades tiene
cualidades incomparables, por tanto vamos a nombrar
características que son comunes entre ellas.
