| dc.description.abstract | Hoy en día y tras numerosos estudios epidemiológicos, se acepta el concepto de la existencia de determinados factores de riesgo que van a modular la susceptibilidad o resistencia del hospedador a padecer enfermedad periodontal, por lo tanto, en su desarrollo van a intervenir varias causas considerándose dicha patología de etiología multifactorial. Objetivo: Determinar factores de riesgo de la periodontitis crónica: Evolución y su aplicación clínica. Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo de corte transversal prospectivo Resultados: los alumnos están totalmente de acuerdo que la periodontitis crónica es una enfermedad de origen bacteriano con manifestaciones inflamatorias e infecciosas, que afectan a los tejidos de soporte del diente. En cuanto al factor de riesgo totalmente de acuerdo 21; 28%. La gingivitis y periodontitis deben ser tratadas oportunamente: Totalmente de acuerdo: 49; 65%. ¿La enfermedad periodontal se ve afectada en cuanto a su progresión, debido a ciertos factores de riesgo relacionados bajo evidencia científica? Al respeto a esta pregunta los alumnos responden: Totalmente de acuerdo: 41; 54%. ¿La diabetes como un factor de riesgo de la enfermedad periodontal? Al respeto a esta pregunta los alumnos responden: Totalmente de acuerdo: 35; 47%. ¿La flora bacteriana, juega un papel importante en la progresión de la enfermedad periodontal y no la cantidad? Al respeto a esta pregunta los alumnos responden: Totalmente de acuerdo: 32; 42%. De acuerdo: 35; 47%. Ni de acuerdo, ni en desacuerdo: 5; 7%. | dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, and after numerous epidemiological studies, it is accepted the concept of the existence of certain risk factors that will modulate the susceptibility or resistance of the host to suffer periodontal disease, therefore, in its development will intervene several causes considering this pathology of multifactorial etiology. The objective of this investigation is to determine the risk factors on chronic periodontitis as well as its evolution and clinical application. The methodological design corresponds to a cross-sectional descriptive study. Findings suggest that students fully agree that chronic periodontitis is a bacterial disease with inflammatory and infectious manifestations that affect the supporting tissues of the tooth. As for the risk factor 21 students totally agreed 21; 28%. Gingivitis and periodontitis must be treated in a timely manner: 49 students agreed; 65%. Periodontal disease is affected in terms of progression due to certain risk factors related to scientific evidence. 41 students responded “Totally agree”; 54%. Diabetes as a risk factor for periodontal disease, 35 students answered “Totally agree”; 47%.
