The basement of the Ecuadorian coast are constituted by a igneous complex rocks denominated Piñon Formation, constituted by basalts of oceanic floor, diabasa and intrusive bodies of Cretaceous age accreted to the continent. The objective of this research was to determine the geological characteristics, geomorphological and structural characterization of the outcrops of the study area between Nobol and Isidro Ayora. For the purpose satellite images were analyzed, fieldworks and petrographic interpretation of the rocks were carried out, which allowed us to elaborate a geological map at 1:25 000 scale. It was determined the presence of several igneous bodies that intrude to the basalts of the Piñon formation, tonalitic stock denominated intrusive Las Mercedes and small stocks with hydrothermal alteration, there are no previous studies or estimated ages of these intrusive bodies, however it has a southwest- Northeast with respect to other calcoalcaline intrusions reported on the coast.
