The current study was applied to tenth grade of General Basic Education students of "José de la Cuadra y Vargas" educational institution. It was done based on a mixed method approach. As a result, data was gathered using research techniques and instruments such as a survey and interviews. For a better understanding, the data was examined and shown in tables and graphs. The results obtained from the surveys were the difficulties students face with oral production, lack of interest and the fears they have when practicing speaking activities. Through the interviews, it was verified that despite the English teacher's strategies and procedures, there were students who needed to improve their communicative skills. The necessity of improving speaking skills is reaffirmed by these findings. That is why it is critical to elaborate proper instructional material so that students can enhance their speaking skills. The elaboration of a booklet based on Information Gap activities was proposed to support both educators and students. On one hand, encourage learnersto participate in oral activities that improve their speaking skills. On the other hand, teachers benefit using it as a teaching tool. In this way, it is intended to improve the teaching-learning process for those who make up the educational field.
