Through this project, students will improve their reading comprehension, develop their imagination and creativity, enrich their vocabulary and improve their oral and written expression. They will also enhance their observation, attention and concentration skills. Likewise, through a bibliographic and analytical study and with the use of research instruments such as a student survey, an interview with the English teacher and classroom observation, it became evident that the students of the 1st bachillerato of the "Simon Bolivar" School present difficulties in their reading comprehension and do not have enough material such as Ecuadorian literary texts to put their reading skills into practice. For this reason, the author of this project found the solution based on the design of an activity handbook containing recognized Ecuadorian literary texts for students to improve their reading skills and associate it with their previous knowledge and promote their cultural identity. Finally, it should be noted that the proposal is designed for high school students according to their A2.2 proficiency level, as stipulated in the National Curriculum Guidelines.
