Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2019-09) Fiallos Zamora, Evelyn Estefania; Campuzano Díaz, JoséThe present thesis project aims to demonstrate the importance of ludic activities in the development of one of the most important skills for ESL learners which is the oral expression. The participants, who are also the main beneficiaries of this research, are the students of 8th grade Classroom “B” at Vicente Rocafuerte Public High School. The data presented in this study was not obtained randomly since it would have not been the correct manner to proceed. For that reason, several instruments of the investigation were applied such as the interview for the teacher, the survey for the students and the observation phase which required the utilization of an observation guide to registering the data. Through the collected data, it was confirmed the presence of a problem in the manner speaking skills were developed inside the classroom which led the author of this research to find out a possible solution to overcome the deficiencies in the development of speaking skills. Resulting in the design of a booklet with ludic activities to improve the speaking skill which will allow students and to improve their speaking skills by performing dynamic activities that mainly require the interaction between them. Thus, they will feel comfortable and encouraged to participate in these activities
