Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2019-09) Pazmiño Tachón, Rubén Darío; Anaguano Pérez, SaraThe importance is to analyze how reading compression influences the critical compression of reading in students of English as a foreign language to promote the use of well-defined concepts that offer subsidies for a specific teaching methodology before, during and after reading with the objective of developing reading skills, and maintaining the analysis of the reader, in order to demonstrate effectiveness through a possible structure with reading activities with the expectation of forming readers who exhale compression and understanding. The development of strategies in the teaching-learning process of comprehensive reading is one of the highest and most complex potentials that humans must possess, this implies developing communication skills beyond being good readers. Finally, the proposal is born, which is expected to be applied with the students and as such the students improve their critical thinking through comprehensive reading for the development of English language reading skills and adapt to the needs of the group. The beneficiaries of this research will be the authorities, teachers and students of the Public School "Camilo Destruge
