This study aimed to investigate the influence of extensive reading to develop reading comprehension through statistical analysis and bibliographic research allowing theoretical development of the variables. It was found that the extensive reading process supports to development of reading comprehension by selecting appropriate materials. Hence, qualitative and quantitative Mixed methods research was applied to examine the lack of reading competence in students, the data was obtained by applying an observation guide, survey, and interview. According to the data result, students read little extensive reading material and have a poor level of reading comprehension; the professor confirms it is hard to motivate and apply the extensive reading to their students. As a result, a booklet with extensive reading activities was designed by the author to provide students with suitable extensive reading activities developed by reading stage such as pre, while, and post-reading according to their English levels to motivate students to enjoy while developing critical thinking.
