For the aforementioned reasons, this project work has collected relevant literature, and carried out a classroom observation, an interview addressed to the teacher, and a survey aimed at students to get to know their real reading difficulties to identify how they can be overcome. The results obtained from the application of the investigation instruments pointed out that there are some components that can be used by teachers to promote the students’ reading skills such as: the importance of taking into account reading metacognitive strategies, the motivation cycle and the entire reading process. Eventually, the findings also indicated that the students respond better at reading when ludic exercises are introduced, which shows that there is in fact a great possibility of improvement of students’ reading comprehension skills through the application of this proposal, which is the design of a didactic guide of ludic reading activities due to the fact that students
