Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-04) Quito Guacho, Cinthya Evelyn; Suarez Loor, Romina Thaiz; Bermudes Rugel, Luis HumbertoThis project focuses on the shadowing technique which has already been used in Japan and in other Asian countries in the past with certain success. It aims to help students to improve their English pronunciation and speaking skill. This method mainly consists of repetition exercises in real time, in this case all performed by L2 students at the Beginner level. They hear phrase by phrase and follow the audio without a transcript as a training tool for improving the speech with the possibility of using the transcript afterwards. It can be done independently as an online task; however, it is also recommended that the teacher develops audio-lingual material like conversations or music as a means of support. The purpose of our didactic guide is to improve the fluency and English pronunciation of the learners by using the before mentioned shadowing technique. The research was carried out as a field, bibliographical process, and quasi-experimental study to determine the influence of the shadowing method on speaking skills. The result of this investigation showed positive changes in the development of the learners’ speaking and listening abilities
