Los mediadores pueden ser profesores, padres. No son jueces ni árbitros,
no imponen soluciones ni opinan sobre quién tiene la verdad, lo que
buscan es satisfacer las necesidades de las partes en disputa, regulando
el proceso de comunicación y lo conduce por medio de unos sencillos
pasos en los que, si las partes colaboran, es posible llegar a una solución
en la que todos ganen o, al menos, queden satisfechos. Experiencias
como éstas se llevando a cabo actualmente en algunos centros
educativos y, más allá de la solución a los problemas interpersonales, lo
que promueven es un modelo de convivencia más pacífico. El programa
de mediación laboral puede resolver conflictos relacionados con las
normas de convivencia, amistades que se han deteriorado, situaciones
que desagraden o parezcan injustas, malos tratos o cualquier tipo de
problemas entre miembros de la comunidad educativa. La mediación
educativa es un método de resolución de conflictos en el ámbito educativo
que aplica el administrador educativo que tiene un sentido mucho más
amplio y se encuentra estrechamente relacionada con la formación
integral del estudiante y la educación en valores. La mediación encierra
una experiencia educativa también en otros ámbitos, ya que las partes se
educan mutuamente al participar en procesos colaborativos de resolución
de conflictos, descubren múltiples percepciones de los problemas e
identifican las cuestiones que les preocupan cuando se explican y
escuchan los fundamentos. El aprendizaje de valores y sus fundamentos,
en cada una de las acciones y procesos que transcurren en las aulas y en
la escuela, se muestran como ejemplos, con experiencias vividas y
asociadas a situaciones de la vida escolar: participación en clase, trabajo
en equipos y solución de conflictos. Es decir, no sólo desde el saber
intelectual, sino desde el saber hacer y el saber ser. Estos contenidos se
abordan desde lo conceptual, lo procedimental y lo actitudinal.

The learning of values and their backgrounds, in each of the actions and processes that take place in classrooms and schools, are shown as examples, experiences and situations associated with school life: class participation, team work and conflict resolution.
