Resumen
Las enfermedades renales, cada vez más abarcan más territorio. La diálisis peritoneal es una modalidad de terapias que sustituyen a la diálisis de forma convencional, es decir que a diferencia de la que se utiliza normalmente; plantea una mayor ventaja. Los pacientes que requieren esta modalidad cumplen criterios definidos. Estos criterios se basan en condiciones específicas, como, por ejemplo: la disponibilidad de tiempo, de un acceso vascular, la pronta inclusión dentro del programa; entre otras. En el Ecuador más del 25% de personas entre las edades de 18-50 años ya presentan algún tipo de patología que afecta indirecta, directa, a su función normal del riñón. Hospitales importantes, como el “TEODORO MALDONADO CARBO” incluyen esta forma de dializado. Lo que crea un beneficio en costos a aquellas personas que lo necesiten. El presente trabajo de investigación, se planteará la normativa de verificar que sucede durante la diálisis peritoneal es estos pacientes. Para su adecuado manejo hay que identificar criterios, pacientes susceptibles, problemática de uso de catéter, problemas y cuidados del catéter, topos de catéter, complicaciones de la técnica quirúrgica y cuidados posteriores. El presente trabajo se realizará con los pacientes en “HOSPITAL GENERAL IESS LOS CEIBOS “
