Pharmaceutical care is a practice focused on the prevention, resolution and identification of drug-related problems; through effective communication between the professional and the patient, the delivery of therapeutic plans that promote favorable results in the person is guaranteed. Consequently, the present study is developed with the objective of implementing the pharmaceutical care service in the comprehensive care unit for the follow-up of patients living with HIV. The methodology used refers to a mixed approach, descriptive modality, non- experimental and transversal type; Two surveys were applied to a population of 70 patients and a set of 77 HIV cases subject to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) were analyzed through medical records. The results indicated that 68.6% of the patients treated in the UAI of the Posorja health center are adherents to antiretroviral treatment, a situation that derives from their concern about the disease (88.6%); however, as negative criteria is limited knowledge about the action of the drugs used (44.3%) and the secondary effects it produces (47.1%). In the field of medical records, People Living With HIV (PLHIV) are mostly men (51.9%) between 31-40 years old; the scheme used frequently corresponds to Tenofovir / Emtricitabine / Efavirenz (TDF / FTC / EFV) and Abacavir / Lamivudine + Lopinavir / Ritonavir (ABC / 3TC + LPV / RTV). As a proposal, the creation of a database of People Living With HIV (PLHIV) was determined to carry out pharmacotherapeutic follow-up.
