dc.description.abstractEl resumen se realiza en un solo párrafo, con un máximo de 150 palabras, interlineado sencillo. Si bien son cierto los servicios de emergencias constituyen zonas sensibles de toda unidad de atención en salud, en donde se reciben diariamente gran cantidad de pacientes con diferentes patologías los cuales representan verdaderos problemas sanitarios cuando no reciben una atención oportuna. Se determina mediante varios análisis y estudios de diferentes países, que la prevalencia de mayor atención en emergencia son de tipo quirúrgica, más aun si se trata de tipo abdominal, por ende se busca un diagnóstico adecuado y un tratamiento precoz. Mediante este estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo, transversal, retrospectivo, se obtuvo que la patología con mayor prevalencia fue el dolor abdominal con CIE-10 R104 con 23%, donde tuvo mayor presentación la apendicitis aguda con CIE-10 k35 con 19% en los pacientes atendidos en el área de emergencia correspondiente a cirugía del Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón (HAGP).es_ES
