Diagnóstico socioambiental del desabastecimiento de agua potable en la parroquia Vuelta Larga, Cantón Esmeraldas

Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación se refiere al desabastecimiento de agua potable en la parroquia Vuelta Larga, cantón Esmeraldas y como este a su vez influye en la calidad de vida de los habitantes de dicha parroquia. Se realizó una visita a la planta de potabilización de la Empresa de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado
EAPA San Mateo la cual estuvo guiada por la jefa de laboratorio de la planta de tratamiento de agua potable, la misma brindo información oportuna sobre las principales causas que afecta al servicio. Para ver el panorama desde el punto de vista de los usuarios se realizó encuestas a los pobladores de la parroquia para identificar los efectos que genera este desabastecimiento. Para describir el medio físico se realizó una línea base la cual brindo información de la calidad del ambiente donde se desarrolla la parroquia, también se realizó un análisis de las características de la población mediante un diagnostico socioeconómico y cultural. El medio físico y el medio socioeconómico fueron evaluados con la metodología para evaluar la sostenibilidad territorial, mediante una matriz en la cual se pondero cada indicador según los criterios establecidos por dicha metodología, teniendo como resultado valores que expresan el nivel de las variables ambientales y socioeconómicas para sostener el territorio local donde se desarrolla la parroquia. Los resultados que se obtuvieron describieron el estado del ambiente en el que se desarrolla la parroquia, el nivel de afectación del servicio de agua potable, y a su vez se priorizaron los sectores donde es importante realizar proyectos respecto al agua debido a la emergencia sanitaria que existe dentro de la parroquia.
The present investigation refers to the shortage of potable water in the parish Vuelta Larga, in the jurisdiction of Esmeraldas and how this in turn influences the quality of life of the inhabitants of the parish. The results that were obtained described the environmental variability in which the parish develops, the level of involvement of the potable water service, and areas were prioritized where it is important to carry out projects related to water due to the sanitary emergency that exists within the parish.
