dc.description.abstract	Antecedentes: Existen situaciones clínicas dentro de la atención en el servicio de urgencias que llevan al profesional médico al extremo su capacidad y conocimiento; una de ellas es el paciente quemado. Al momento en el que se recibe al paciente las quemaduras deben tener un lugar secundario, lo primordial es asegurar que no corra riesgo inminente de muerte. Para ello se debe iniciar la valoración con base en las guías del soporte vital avanzado en el trauma e iniciar los procedimientos necesarios en caso de requerirse. El paciente quemado amerita un manejo especial, tomando en cuenta que el cálculo de su gravedad varía de acuerdo a las características propias de cada quemadura y que el manejo y reanimación se realizará de manera diferente para cada caso. Objetivo: Evaluar al personal de salud respecto al manejo y tratamiento inicial en la atención de adultos con quemaduras en el Hospital “Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda” de la ciudad de Portoviejo. Metodología: Cuantitativa, de diseño no experimental, de tipo descriptivo, analítico y de corte trasversal, la misma permitirá determinar las características propias de cada quemadura así como el tipo de manejo inicial y tratamiento para cada caso en particular. Resultados: Se evaluaron 33 servidores de salud en atención en adultos con quemaduras. El 100% del personal encuestado obtuvo una puntuación final no satisfactorio (todos los casos con puntuación menor a 6). El 84,85% del personal encuestado considera que los recursos materiales y humanos son insuficientes. Los encuestados se encuentran insatisfechos con su nivel cognitivo.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Background: There are clinical situations within the care in the emergency department that take the medical professional to the extreme their capacity and knowledge; one of them is the burned patient. At the moment the patient is received the burns must have a secondary site, the main thing is to ensure that there is no imminent risk of death. To do this, the assessment should be started based on the guides of the advanced life support in the trauma and start the necessary procedures if required. The burned patient requires special handling, taking into account the calculation of their severity varies according to the characteristics of each burn and that the handling and resuscitation will be performed differently for each case. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the management and initial treatment in the care of adults with burns entering the emergency service of the Hospital "Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda" in the city of Portoviejo through the application of a survey to health personnel. Methodology: It will be a quantitative research, of non-experimental design, of descriptive, analytical type and transversal cut; it will allow to determine the characteristics of each burn as well as the type of initial management and treatment for each particular case. Results: A total of 33 health servers were evaluated for adults with burns. 100% of the personnel surveyed obtained an unsatisfactory final score (all cases with a score lower than 6). 84.85% of the personnel surveyed consider that material and human resources are insufficient.
