dc.description.abstract	Esta investigación servirá para comprender la logística que se deriva del uso del contenedor intermodal como unidad de transporte internacional de cargas. Los terminales de contenedores desempeñan un rol relevante, al permitir la conexión entre la transportación terrestre y la transportación marítima, así facilitando el comercio internacional. En la última década, el tráfico de contenedores presenta flujos crecientes a nivel mundial, por tanto los terminales de contenedores deben reorganizar sus factores productivos para atender dicho auge. Ante determinadas restricciones para expandir sus infraestructuras, los terminales deben optar por optimizar sus espacios para acomodar más volúmenes de contenedores. La adquisición de maquinarias de manipuleo y apilamiento de contenedores, más versátiles y de mayor alcance de altura de estiba, por la nueva tecnología disponible, puede optimizar la capacidad de transferencia y almacenaje de contenedores. La evaluación financiera se aplica para la elección de la alternativa de equipo portacontenedor más favorable en función a los objetivos planteados en el presente estudio	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	This research will help understand the logistics that derives from the use of intermodal container as a unit of international freight transportation. Container terminals play an important role in allowing the connection between ground transportation and maritime transportation, thereby facilitating international trade. In the last decade, container traffic has increased flows globally, so the container terminals must reorganize their production factors to meet this booming.
