dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio se realizó en el hospital Francisco Icaza Bustamante, ubicado en la ciudad de Guayaquil, tuvo un diseño de corte longitudinal, descriptivo y no experimental cuyo objetivo fue determinar las principales complicaciones neurológicas de los pacientes de 0 a 24 meses con Diagnóstico de Hidrocefalia Congénita en el periodo 2015 – 2018. Se trabajó con 153 pacientes que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Los principales resultados obtenidos fueron: El sexo predominante fue el masculino con 80 pacientes correspondiente al 52%. Se encontró que la edad predominante al momento de su diagnóstico fue en las edades de 7 a 12 meses correspondio al 58% con 64 pacientes Las complicaciones más frecuentes fueron las convulsiones con el 41% seguidas de cefaleas con el 29%. Dentro de las secuelas primarias tenemos la hipertensión endocraneana se presentó el 36% de los casos. Los factores de riesgo que predominan son: la falta de control prenatal con el 58% seguidos de la ingesta de alcohol por parte de la madre con el 22 %. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | The present study was carried out in the Francisco Icaza Bustamante hospital, located in the city of Guayaquil; it had a longitudinal, descriptive and non-experimental design whose objective was to determine the main neurological complications and their association with other diseases of patients from 0 to 24 months with Diagnosis of Congenital Hydrocephalus in the period 2015 - 2018. We worked with 153 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The main results obtained were: The predominant sex was male with 144 patients corresponding to 57%. It was found that the predominant age at the time of diagnosis was at ages 7 to 12 months with 58% with 64 patients . The most frequent complications were seizures with 41% followed by headaches with 29%. Within primary schools, intracranial hypertension occurred in 36% of cases. The risk factors that predominate are the lack of prenatal control with 58% followed by the intake of alcohol by the mother with 22% | es_ES |
