Resumen
Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo descriptivo sobre las características de la parasitosis por Ascaris lumbricoides en la población de la Parroquia Manuel J. Calle; durante el periodo Septiembre - Diciembre del 2000.
Se elaboró una encuesta que se aplicó a 200 pacientes, tanto niños como adultos a fin de recabar datos acerca de la edad, sexo, situación socio económica, tipo de vivienda , condiciones sanitarias.
Se determinó una incidencia del 35 % de Ascariasis, encontrándose en los niños de 5 a 14 años el mayor número de casos.
Concluyendo que la falta de salubridad, higiene personal y familiar; las condiciones económicas de los pobladores, deficientes programas de control parasitario, tratamientos inadecuados, son causas primordiales para que la parasitosis no se pueda erradicar.
El trabajo realizado sirvió a una parte de la población a concientizar sobre la transmisión parasitaria y en la actualidad se realizan a las personas investigadas controles parasitarios periódicos después del tratamiento correspondiente y para que a su vez sean un efecto multiplicador en toda la población, sobre la importancia que tiene la higiene personal, ambiental y las diferentes medidas de prevención necesarias para reducir el índice de infecciones por parásitos.
Was carried out a descriptive retrospective study on the characteristics of the parasitosis for Ascaris lumbricoides in the population of the Parish Manuel J. Remain silent; during the period September - December of the 2000. A survey was elaborated that was applied 200 patients, as much children as adults in order to recabar data about the age, sex, economic situation partner, housing type, sanitary conditions. An incidence of 35% of Ascariasis was determined, being in the children from 5 to 14 years the biggest number of cases. Concluding that the health lack, personal and family hygiene; the economic conditions of the residents, faulty programs of parasitic control, inadequate treatments, are primordial causes so that the parasitosis you cannot eradicate. The carried out work served to the population's part to inform on the parasitic transmission and at the present time they are carried out to periodic parasitic people investigated controls after the corresponding treatment and so that in turn they are an effect multiplier in the whole population, about the importance that has the personal, environmental hygiene and the different necessary measures of prevention to reduce the index of infections for parasites.
