Estudio del edentulismo parcial según la clasificación de kennedy en pacientes atendidos en la clínica de postgrado de rehabilitación oral durante el periodo 2013-2014

Resumen
En el presente trabajo se estudio el edentulismo parcial según la clasificación de Kennedy en 63 pacientes atendidos en la clínica de postgrado de rehabilitación oral, entre uni y bimaxilares logrando un total de 84 prótesis. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, tranversal y observacional a partir de modelos de estudio e historias clínicas recolectadas. Se realizo una tabla general con datos obtenidos como sexo, nombres, edades, nivel de preparación, clase social, tipo de paciente rehabilitado según el maxilar tratado, clase Kennedy más común por maxilar y la modificación más común existente y se obtuvieron resultados. Resultados: El maxilar inferior fue el más afectado en cuanto a perdida dentaria con un resultado del 58% frente al 42% en lo que refiere al maxilar superior. La rehabilitación bucal se da más de manera unimaxilar (67%) que bimaxilar (33%) dependiendo de las necesidades del paciente y de su ingreso monetario. La clase más frecuente en el maxilar superior fue la clase III con un 38% seguido de la clase IV con un 23%, la clase I con un 21% y la clase II con un 18% . En cuanto al Maxilar Inferior la clase Kennedy más común fue la clase I con un 76% evidenciando así que los dientes que más se pierden son los molares inferiores
In this thesis, the study of Kennedy´s classification for parcial edentulism was made among 63 patients who attended to the Post grade clinic of Oral Rehabilitation, between uni and bi maxilars making a total of 84 prothesis. A descriptive, transversal and observational study was made over study models and collected medical records. In order to obtain the results a general table with data was developed, that included general information such as gender, name, age, level of preparation, social class, and also type of patients rehabilitated with their respective class of Kennedy. Results: The mandible was the most affected in terms of tooth loss with a score of 58% to 42% when it comes to the upper jaw. Oral rehabilitation occurs more in unimaxilar way (67%) than bimaxilar way (33%), more often depending on the needs of patients and their monetary income. The most frequent Kennedy class in the maxilla was Class III with 38% followed by the class IV with 23%, Class I showed a 21% and class II a 18%.
