Resumen
El objetivo general de este trabajo fue determinar y analizar la distribución de la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) neta receptada por el Ecuador clasificada por nación de origen y rama de actividad económica durante el periodo 2016-2022. La metodología adoptada en el trabajo se basó en un enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando como fuente de información secundaria a los datos estadísticos presentados por el Banco Central del Ecuador inherente a los valores de la IED. Asimismo, se definió el método analítico con series de tiempo, que sirvió para analizar la evolución de los indicadores analizados. El tipo de trabajo descriptivo y documental fue parte importante del desarrollo metodológico de la investigación. Los resultados del trabajo implican una concentración de la IED neta receptada tanto por territorio de origen como por rama de la actividad económica receptora. De la misma forma, se identificó que América y Europa son las principales regiones que contribuyen con la IED para la nación ecuatoriana, siendo estos flujos destinados mayoritariamente a actividades de explotación de minas y canteras, servicios prestados a empresa y manufacturas.
The general objective of this work was to determine and analyze the distribution of net Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) received by Ecuador classified by nation of origin and branch of economic activity during the period 2016-2022. The methodology adopted in the work was based on a quantitative approach, using as a source of secondary information the statistical data presented by the Central Bank of Ecuador inherent to the FDI values. Likewise, the analytical method was defined with time series, which served to analyze the evolution of the analyzed indicators. The type of descriptive and documentary work was an important part of the methodological development of the research. The results of the work imply a concentration of the net FDI received both by territory of origin and by branch of the receiving economic activity. In the same way, it was identified that America and Europe are the main regions that contribute with FDI for the Ecuadorian nation, these flows being mainly destined for mining and quarrying activities, services provided to companies and manufacturing.
