dc.description.abstractAntecedentes: Para El Ecuador, las infecciones respiratorias agudas graves son de mucha importancia en el ámbito epidemiológico y constituye prioridad en Salud, ya que representa una alta tasa de morbilidad y mortalidad en la población, es por ello que se implementa normas para la prevención y reconocimiento de estas enfermedades, así como también la recolección de la información, el análisis y la toma de decisiones oportunas en bienestar de la comunidad. Según el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censo (INEC), las neumonías constituyen la cuarta causa de morbilidad, y la tercera causa de morbilidad a nivel pediátrico, la cuarta causa de morbilidad en toda la población. Objetivo: Es determinar la etiología viral de las infecciones respiratorias agudas graves en la Coordinación Zonal 8 durante el año 2016. Metodología: Investigación cuantitativa, descriptiva, observacional y transversal. Resultados: Fueron los siguientes: En las 52 semanas epidemiológicas del 2016 se presentaron 932 casos de IRAG en los 6 hospitales centinelas de la Coordinación Zonal 8. Se observa circulación de Virus Sincitial Respiratorio (VSR) el mismo que correspondió a un 59% de los casos positivos, además de virus de Parainfluenza, virus de Influenza AH1N1 (2009) y AH3N2, virus de Influenza A no subtipificable y Adenovirus. Conclusión: Que la hipótesis planteada es “verdadera” ya que el principal agente viral que ha provocado infecciones respiratorias agudas graves en los hospitales centinela de la coordinación zonal 8 en el año 2016 es el Virus Sincitial Respiratorioes_ES
dc.description.abstractBackground: In Ecuador, serious acute respiratory infections are of great importance in the epidemiological field and constitute a priority in Health, since it represents a high rate of morbidity and mortality in the population, that is why it is implemented standards for the prevention and recognition of these diseases, as well as the collection of information, analysis and timely decision-making on community well-being. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), pneumonias are the fourth cause of morbidity, and the third cause of pediatric morbidity, the fourth cause of morbidity in the entire population. Objective: To determine the viral etiology of severe acute respiratory infections in Zonal Coordination 8 during 2016. Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive, observational and transversal research. Results: In the 52 epidemiological weeks of 2016, 932 cases of SARI were presented in the 6 sentinel hospitals of Zonal Coordination 8. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) circulation was observed, corresponding to 59% of the Positive cases, in addition to Parainfluenza virus, Influenza virus AH1N1 (2009) and AH3N2, Influenza A non subtype virus and Adenovirus. Conclusion: The hypothesis raised is true since the main viral agent that has caused severe acute respiratory infections in sentinel hospitals of zonal coordination 8 in 2016 is Respiratory Sincitial Viruses_ES
