Resumen
La ciudad de Babahoyo a través del tiempo ha estado en constante cambio y crecimiento en consideración a su parte urbana, cultural y económica; todo aquel desarrollo se ha ido concentrando mayormente en la zona céntrica de la ciudad, hecho que ha provocado la creación de problemas sociales y urbanísticos que afectan a las necesidades espaciales de los habitantes como, la presencia de comercio informal, deterioro del espacio peatonal, falta de espacios públicos, insalubridad, entre otros. A partir del análisis de la situación actual del casco central de Babahoyo, el presente trabajo busca diseñar estrategias urbanas que ayuden a revitalizar el espacio público abarcando calles, aceras, áreas de recreación, áreas verdes, comercio informal para mejorar y ayudar a devolver la imagen y espacios agradables en el casco central de la ciudad de Babahoyo.
The city of Babahoyo has been in constant change and growth over time in terms of its urban, cultural and economic aspects; all that development has been concentrated mainly in the central area of the city, which has led to the creation of social and urban problems that affect the spatial needs of the inhabitants, such as the presence of informal commerce, deterioration of pedestrian space, lack of public spaces, unhealthy conditions, among others. Based on the analysis of the current situation of the central area of Babahoyo, this work seeks to design urban strategies that help revitalize public space, including streets, sidewalks, recreation areas, green areas, and informal commerce to improve and help restore the image and pleasant spaces in the central area of the city of Babahoyo.
