dc.description.abstractObjetivo Asociar los hábitos alimenticios y estado nutricional en pacientes con Síndrome de Down de 1 a 18 años que asisten al centro médico de atención a la comunidad de la escuela tecnología médica de la Universidad de Guayaquil. Métodos: El trabajo es de enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, de corte transversal. Resultados: se valoró 73 pacientes con síndrome de Down, en un rango de entre 1 y 18 años con un promedio de 6 a 10 ±5,18. En relación con el sexo se identificó de 52% hombres y en mujeres (47.9%. Con respecto al estado nutricional en cuanto al peso/ Edad el 26% de la población masculina presenta un normo peso, en cuanto al sexo femenino el 23% se encuentra entre los rangos adecuados. No obstante, a lo que se refiere a cantidad de alimento por porciones la ingesta es incorrecta, de acuerdo con la guía de alimentación de la fundación de Síndrome de Down de Madrid. Conclusión: se encontró que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa < 0,05 entre los hábitos alimenticios y el estado nutricional de los pacientes que acuden al centro médico de atención a la comunidad de la escuela tecnología médica de la UG.es_ES
dc.description.abstractcaused by the presence of all or part of the third copy of chromosome 21. Objective: Associate dietary habits and nutritional status in patients with Syndrome of Down from 1 to 18 years attending the medical center of attention to the community of the medical technology school of the University of Guayaquil. Methods: The work is a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach and the technique is observational, measurement and analytical. Results: 73 evaluated patients identified in which the nutritional status of patients with Down syndrome was assessed, ranging from 1 to 18 years with an average of 6 to 10 and a standard deviation of ± 5.18. About sex, 38 men were identified (52%) and in women 35 (47.9%). Concerning nutritional status concerning weight/age, 26% of the male population has an average weight, regarding female sex 23% is among the appropriate ranges. Regarding eating habits, it is shown that there is a proper consumption of food groups in terms of frequency; however, regarding the amount of food per portion, the intake is incorrect, according to the feeding guide of the Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid. Conclusion: it found that there is a statistically significant relationship between the eating habits and the nutritional status of the patients who go to the medical center of attention to the community of the medical technology school of the UG.es_ES
