Knowledge of periodontal tissue response is critical when making treatment plans with fixed crowns. During diagnosis and treatment plan is necessary to consider the available scientific evidence. Clinical research focuses on the effect of restorations on periodontal tissues. Different studies set out in the development of this proposal shows that the poor marginal adaptation, the location of gingival margins intracreviculares deep rough surfaces of the restoration and restorations overcontoured can contribute to localized periodontal inflammation. The swelling occurs because these restorations can provide a protected environment in which the normal microflora to a periodontopathogenic mature. The objective of this proposal is to compare and describe the interaction between gingival health and management to adapt fixed prosthetic ceramic crowns with aesthetic and functional parameters. Research shows the response of periodontal tissues fixed partial restorations and emphasizes the aspects such as inflammation, attachment loss, probing depth and bone loss. It also highlights the mismatch of the fixed prosthetic restorations that can affect the resistance to fracture and reduce the longevity of the abutment tooth.
