dc.description.abstract | Los tumores del estroma gastrointestinal (GIST) son los sarcomas más comunes del tracto gastrointestinal. Afectan a todos los segmentos del tubo digestivo. Se desarrollan a partir de las células intersticiales de Cajal. OBJETIVO: Identificar las características clínicas e histológicas de los tumores estromales gastrointestinales diagnosticados en el servicio de gastroenterología del Hospital SOLCA-Guayaquil. METODOLOGÍA: El estudio fue observacional, descriptivo, retrospectivo y de corte transversal. RESULTADOS: Se analizaron 27 pacientes, el género que predomino fue el femenino con el 74,1%, la localización de los tumores estromales gastrointestinales fue gástrica en el 63%, edad media de 65 años, el 48,1% presento un índice mitótico entre 5-10 células por campo, el síntoma que predominó fue el dolor abdominal en el 48,1%, en cuanto a la histopatología el tipo fusocelular predomino con el 88,9%. CONCLUSIONES: En nuestro estudio el tamaño del tumor influyo en el riesgo de malignidad, es decir a mayor tamaño mayor riesgo de malignidad. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are the most common sarcomas of the gastrointestinal tract. They affect all segments of the digestive tract. They develop from the interstitial cells of Cajal. OBJECTIVE: To identify the clinical and histological characteristics of gastrointestinal stromal tumors diagnosed in the gastroenterology service of Hospital SOLCA-Guayaquil. METHODOLOGY: The study was observational, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional. RESULTS: 27 patients were analyzed, the predominant gender was female with 74.1%, the ii location of gastrointestinal stromal tumors was gastric in 63%, mean age 65 years, 48.1% had a mitotic index between 5-10 cells per field, the predominant symptom was abdominal pain in 48.1%, in terms of histopathology, the spindle cell type predominated with 88.9%.
