dc.description.abstract	El VIH es un enfermedad que a lo largo de los años ha llevado a la muerte de muchas personas a nivel mundial, el Ecuador no es exento, ya que por falta de información, tratamientos interrumpidos o simplemente el hecho de no atención, causan graves infecciones oportunistas por el debilitado estado de su sistema inmunológico. La meningitis ha sido la enfermedad oportunista más frecuente, que ha causado el deterioro en la salud de los pacientes con VIH y un CD4 bajo, por lo que el conocimiento de cada uno d sus agentes causales para el oportuno manejo es relevante. Se estima que la mayoría de pacientes con infección por VIH tienen o tendrán en algún momento un síntoma (cefalea) o síndrome neurológico ya sea causado directamente por el virus, por oportunismo, o complicación del tratamiento. Se recabo información basada en el periodo de febrero del 2018 a enero del 2019 de historias clínicas del Hospital de Infectología “Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña, concluyendo que los 203 pacientes con CD4 bajo indistintamente de valor, contraen meningitis. Se identificó los agentes causales de meningitis en pacientes con VIH, estableciendo las edades y sexo de quienes la presentan con mayor frecuencia; se detalló la cantidad de pacientes que tienen Cd4 bajo. Para así lograr fortalecer las propuestas preventivas que colaboren a evitar el contagio oportunista de enfermedades en este caso la Meningitis.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	HIV is a disease that over the years has led to the death of many people worldwide, Ecuador is not exempt, because for lack of information, interrupted treatments or simply the fact of not attending, cause serious infections opportunists because of the weakened state of their immune system. Meningitis has been the most frequent opportunistic disease, which has caused deterioration in the health of patients with HIV and a low CD4, so that the knowledge of each of its causal agents for timely management is relevant. It is estimated that the majority of patients with HIV infection have or will at some point have a symptom (headache) or neurological syndrome, whether caused directly by the virus, due to opportunism, or complication of treatment. Information was collected based on the period of February 2018 to January 2019 of medical records of the Hospital de Infectologia "Dr. José Daniel Rodríguez Maridueña, concluding that the 203 patients with low CD4 indifferently of value, contract meningitis. The causative agents of meningitis in HIV patients were identified, establishing the ages and sex of those who present it most frequently; the number of patients who have low CD4 was detailed. In this way, we can strengthen the preventive proposals that help to avoid the opportunistic contagion of diseases in this case, Meningitis.	es_ES
