Resumen
El presente proyecto de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la ganancia de peso en embarazadas de 20 a 35 años y el estado nutricional del recién nacido, en el hospital general Ambato. Este estudio es de tipo no experimental, no se manipularon las variables solo se observó los fenómenos y variables para analizarlos, el diseño fue transversal retrospectivo. Con la participación de 126 gestantes con sus respectivos recién nacidos, mediante datos clínicos obtuvimos la antropometría de la embarazadas (peso, talla, IMC preconcepción y ganancia de peso), del recién nacido (longitud, perímetro cefálico y peso), para obtener así el análisis estadístico. Se observó un valor superior en embarazadas con normopeso. Obtuvimos un resultado con mayor porcentaje en recién nacidos con normopeso seguido con un porcentaje mínimo en bebes macrosómicos

This research project was done to determine the relationship between weight gain during pregnancy from the age of 20 to 35 years old and the nutritional status of the newborn in Ambato’s hospital. A higher value was one observed in pregnant women with normal weight. We got a result with a higher percentage in new born with normal weight followed by a minimum percentage in macrocosmic babies.
