Evaluación de la eficiencia de remoción de la turbiedad de la planta de tratamiento de agua potable del Cantón Jipijapa – Provincia de Manabí.

dc.description.abstractLa planta de tratamiento de agua potable del cantón Jipijapa se encuentra ubicada al noreste de la ciudad, a 3.5 km en el sector llamado San Manuel, es abastecida por una fuente superficial que es el rio Portoviejo. La presente propuesta de trabajo de titulación fue reducir el parámetro turbiedad, plantear un plan de mejoras y optimizar los químicos empleados en la planta a fin de lograr obtener agua de mejor calidad que cumpla las exigencias que la normativa nacional establece. Para cumplir con los objetivos planteados se llevaron a cabo algunas visitas a la planta potabilizadora, a fin de recolectar muestras y realizar los ensayos respectivos para obtener información de partida en nuestro estudio; por otra parte, la optimización de químicos se hizo a través de la prueba de jarras; ensayo que permite obtener la cantidad de químico que se debe emplear al agua cruda. En dichas visitas se observó las falencias estructurales que tiene la potabilizadora tanto en su estructura como en sus unidades de tratamiento. La planta potabilizadora a la fecha del 6 de noviembre del 2018 removía la turbiedad en un 83.52% siendo un valor de 1.3 NTU, después de un mes y 4 días que la planta trabajara con el valor obtenido por el ensayo de la prueba de jarras el porcentaje de remoción es 94.14% es decir 0.67 NTU. Además, se evidenció que la concentración de cloro obtenido en la planta es deficiente en su distribución, ya que en las zonas más alejadas de la planta no llega el agua con los valores de concentración de cloro conforme la normativa.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe potable water treatment plant of the Jipijapa canton is located to the northeast of the city, 3.5 km away in the area called San Manuel, it is supplied by a surface source that is the Portoviejo river. The present proposal for titling work was to reduce the turbidity parameter, propose an improvement plan and optimize the chemicals used in the plant in order to obtain water of better quality that meets the requirements established by national regulations. In order to comply with the objectives set out, some visits were made to the water treatment plant, in order to collect samples and perform the respective tests to obtain baseline information in our study; On the other hand, the optimization of chemicals was done through the jar test; test that allows to obtain the amount of chemical that should be used to raw water. During these visits, the structural faults of the water treatment plant were observed both in its structure and in its treatment units. The water treatment plant as of November 6, 2018 removed the turbidity by 83.52%, with a value of 1.3 NTU, after one month and 4 days the plant worked with the value obtained by the test of the jar test. Removal percentage is 94.14% ie 0.67 NTU. In addition, it was evident that the concentration of chlorine obtained in the plant is deficient in its distribution, since in the areas furthest from the plant does not reach the water with the chlorine concentration values according to the regulations. In order to solve these problems found in this study, it is suggested to perform the laboratory tests most followed in the plant and to make an intermediate chlorination in the distribution system to comply with the regulations.es_ES
