Hospital General Liborio Panchana Sotomayor.
BACKGROUND: Dengue fever is an acute febrile human illness caused by the presence of the vector Aedes aegypti, which has increased in tropical and subtropical areas and has become a real public health issue pública. General Purpose: Evaluate the diagnostic value of early detection of the NS1 glycoprotein at the Liborio Panchana Sotomayor General Hospital in a period of 18 months that includes January to December, 2015 and January to June of the year 2016. Method: A descriptive, retrospective of indirect observational cross-section type of study is performed, through the review of clinical files located in the Hospital´s computer system after prior authorization. Results: It has been found in this study that there is a great number of febrile suspect patients who were notified in the Hospital to whom Ns1 tests where y para los cuales se performed, giving off positive results in 16% of cases, but the negative results where analyzed to detect other febrile syndroms, getting also undetermined results. It must make known that Santa Elena maintains the greatest number of febrile suspect patients that also meet criteria to individualize them to the firm suspicion of suffering Dengue Fever. Conclusions: This is a study that proposes a modern infrastructure for typification of serology for dengue fever due to start, based on it, a first formal management at the Liborio Panchana General Hospital.
