Resumen
La cefalometría constituye una herramienta fundamental para el Ortodoncista en el diagnóstico de sus casos y en la planificación de sus tratamientos. La biproclinación dentaria es un indicador de la presencia de una anomalía a nivel bucal, ya que de no ser diagnosticada y corregida a tiempo, se puede fracasar con el tratamiento y su posterior recidiva, dándole al paciente una inestabilidad en sus piezas dentarias y no cumpliendo con las aspiraciones del paciente.
El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar la modificación que presenta el ángulo interincisal pos tratamiento mediante análisis cefalométrico de Ricketts en pacientes con biproclinación dentaria inicial. Para realizar esta investigación se utilizó la metodología descriptiva y bibliográfica, se tomó como muestra a los pacientes de la Clínica de Ortodoncia de la Escuela de Posgrado “Dr. José Apolo Pineda”, durante el periodo 2011-2014. Por medio de trazados cefalométricos al inicio y al final del tratamiento, y con mediciones del ángulo interincisal con el análisis cefalométrico de Ricketts, se determinó el promedio de modificación que presenta dicho ángulo al principio y al final del tratamiento, tiempo en el cual se determinó la modificación si hubo mejoría en su cierre labial, cambio de perfil y en el género determino cual tuvo mayor modificación de dicho ángulo para su posterior análisis en relación al tiempo en que se modificó dicho ángulo. Con los resultados obtenidos en esta investigación se espera que sirvan de ayuda al profesional de la Ortodoncia

To perform this descriptive and bibliographic research methodology was used, it was sampled patients of the Clinic of Orthodontics, Graduate School "Dr. José Pineda Apollo "during the period 2011-2014. Through cephalometric tracings at the beginning and end of treatment, and with measurements interincisal angle with the cephalometric analysis of Ricketts, the average change that has the angle at the beginning and end of treatment, at which time it was determined determined modification if there was improvement in their lip closure, changing gender profile and determine which was more modification of this angle for further analysis in relation to the time when the angle is changed.
