El maltrato psicológico infantil daña o reduce sustancialmente tanto el potencial creativo como el desarrollo de facultades y procesos mentales del niño (inteligencia, memoria, reconocimiento, percepción, atención, imaginación y moral) que lo imposibilita a entender y manejar su medio ambiente, lo confunde y/o atemoriza haciéndolo más vulnerable e inseguro afectando adversamente su educación, bienestar general y vida sociala porque fuente
La violencia psicológica, actúa en el tiempo. Es un daño que se va acentuando y consolidando en el tiempo. Cuanto más tiempo persista, mayor y más sólido será el daño. en el cual puede causar al niño
En toda época y espacio es necesario que exista primero un niño para luego tener un adulto, la percepción de la infancia como tal escapa a las leyes de la naturaleza para formar parte de la historia de cada sociedad y de la peculiar forma en que se transita la relación de las generaciones y en particular la vinculación entre adulto y niño.
Esta precepción de la infancia esta vinculada a la forma de relacionamiento de la sociedad con el niño con la aparición de múltiples manifestaciones del maltrato
