Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common medical condition that affects the hand and wrist, causing symptoms such as pain, numbness, and weakness. Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in managing this condition, and the biomechanical approach of occupational therapy has been used to improve functionality and quality of life in affected adult population. The overall objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of rehabilitation based on the biomechanical approach of occupational therapy in improving functionality and quality of life in adults with carpal tunnel syndrome. A quantitative approach methodology was employed, utilizing a descriptive and cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 20 patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, whose medical histories and data were used to gather relevant information. Additionally, the Quick DASH questionnaire was administered. The results obtained from the analysis of the collected data provided information on the effectiveness of rehabilitation based on the biomechanical approach of occupational therapy. Changes in functionality and quality of life in patients were examined after receiving rehabilitative intervention. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of rehabilitation based on the biomechanical approach of occupational therapy in improving functionality and quality of life in adults with carpal tunnel syndrome. xviii Keywords: Carpal tunnel syndrome, Rehabilitation, Biomechanical approach, Occupational therapy, Adult population
