dc.description.abstract	En Ecuador son limitados los estudios sobre la relación que guardan entre sí las variables percepción de apoyo parental y funcionalidad familiar, por ello, el objetivo principal del presente proyecto de investigación fue determinar la relación entre la percepción de apoyo parental y funcionalidad familiar en familias del sector Pascuales, parroquia rural de Guayaquil-Ecuador. Para cumplir con dicho objetivo se empleó una metodología de corte cuantitativo, bajo el método hipotético deductivo con alcance correlacional, en conjunto a la aplicación de instrumentos mismos que fueron los encargados de constatar si existe o no relación entre las variables, estos instrumentos fueron el Inventario de Alianza Parental (PAI) y la Escala de Funcionamiento Familiar (FAD), acompañado de una ficha de datos sociodemográficos y de una entrevista semiestructurada. En relación con la muestra y tomando en consideración criterios de inclusión y exclusión se empleó la selección por conveniencia por parte de los investigadores, donde 53 familias formaron parte de este estudio. Finalmente, se comprobó mediante la técnica del chi cuadrado que ambas variables no guardan una relación significativa entre sí, todo esto a pesar que la percepción de apoyo parental haya sido constante, el diagnóstico de funcionamiento familiar resultó ser medianamente funcional, es decir que, la funcionalidad familiar no influye directamente sobre la percepción de apoyo parental por ello, se considera pertinente que se tomen en cuenta otras dimensiones de la escala de funcionamiento familiar (FAD), y no tan solo las estudiadas y aplicadas en la presente investigación	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	In Ecuador, studies on the relationship between the variables perception of parental support and family functionality are limited, therefore, the main objective of this research project was to determine the relationship between parental support and family functionality in families in the sector of Pascuales, rural parish of Guayaquil-Ecuador. To meet this objective, a quantitative cutting methodology was used, under the hypothetical deductive method with a correlational scope, together with the application of instruments, which were responsible for verifying whether or not there is a relationship between the variables, these instruments were the Inventory of Parental Alliance (PAI), the Family Functioning Scale (FAD), accompanied by a sociodemographic data sheet and a semi-structured interview in order for the obtained results to have absolute validity and reliability. In relation to the sample, and taking into consideration of inclusion and exclusion criteria, the selection was used for convenience by the researchers, where 53 families formed from this study, where it was finally verified by the chi-square technique that both variables do not save a significant relationship with each other, although the perception of parental support has been constant, the diagnosis of family functioning proved to be moderately functional, family functionality does not directly influence parental support, so it is considered pertinent to take into account other dimensions of the family functioning scale (FAD), and not only those studied and applied in this research.	es_ES
