dc.description.abstract	La crisis asmática es un evento de dificultad respiratoria que se presenta de manera inesperada, con disnea, sensación de opresión en el pecho, tos y sibilancias, la combinación de estas manifestaciones clínicas deteriora el estado de salud del paciente ya sea pediátrico u adulto. La identificación temprana del estado asmático y su rápido y enérgico tratamiento son objetivos esenciales, ya que la incapacidad para percibir la gravedad de la emergencia o su tratamiento tardío está totalmente relacionados con la gravedad y la mortalidad de la crisis de asma. El objetivo de la investigación es describir el tratamiento inhalatorio utilizado en pacientes entre 0- 12 años con crisis asmática que fueron atendidos en el área de emergencia en Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos del hospital del niño “Dr. FRANCISCO ICAZA BUSTAMANTE” dentro del periodo de enero 2019 a enero del 2020. Se realizó un análisis de las historias clínicas de los pacientes que presentaron los criterios de inclusión mencionados anteriormente, con un total de 73 personas. Los resultados a destacar fueron los síntomas principales: tos, disnea, sibilancias y dolor torácico. El rango de edad que más presentaron crisis asmática fue menores a 5 años. El género más afectado fue el femenino. La estrategia más utilizada para el control de la crisis asmática es la combinación de manera alternada de fármacos de manera inhalada como el bromuro de ipratropio más salbutamol.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	The asthmatic crisis is an event of respiratory distress that occurs unexpectedly, with dyspnea, a sensation of tightness in the chest, cough and wheezing, the combination of these clinical manifestations deteriorates the health status of the patient, whether pediatric or adult. The early identification of the asthmatic state and its rapid and energetic treatment are essential objectives, since the inability to perceive the severity of the emergency or its delayed treatment are totally related to the severity and mortality of the asthma attack. The objective of the research is to describe the inhalation treatment used in patients between 0-12 years old with asthmatic attacks who were treated in the emergency area of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the “Dr. FRANCISCO ICAZA BUSTAMANTE” within the period from January 2019 to January 2020. An analysis of the medical records of the patients who presented the inclusion criteria mentioned above was carried out, with a total of 73 people. The results to be highlighted were the main symptoms: cough, dyspnea, wheezing and chest pain. The age range with the most asthmatic attacks was under 5 years. The most affected gender was the female. The most used strategy for the control of the asthmatic crisis is the alternate combination of drugs in an inhaled way such as ipratropium bromide plus salbutamol.
