| dc.description.abstract | La formación deficiente de los procesos maxilares durante el desarrollo y crecimiento ordinario pueden ocasionar problemas en la función y estética de los pacientes, favoreciendo la presencia de las alteraciones maxilares o mordidas cruzadas posteriores, que inicialmente se desarrollan por factores o hábitos desencadenantes; donde se establece opciones terapéuticas actuales, que son efectivas para la corrección y rehabilitación del plano transversal. Objetivo: Determinar la eficacia del Disyuntor tipo Hyrax en el tratamiento de colapsos maxilares y mordidas cruzadas posteriores.Materiales y Método: El método de investigación Analítico-Sintético, fue de elección en este trabajo, gracias a su afinidad por el análisis y síntesis de la información. La técnica empleada en la elaboración de este trabajo es la revisión bibliográfica, donde la información es recolectada de fuentes primarias y secundarias. El instrumento utilizado es la Ficha de Registro Bibliográfica, con datos muy relevantes acerca de los autores y coautores. Resultados: La expansión maxilar con hyrax, es considerado como el procedimiento más eficaz, gracias a su diseño versátil y características ortopédicas para la corrección de deficiencias maxilares transversales sin producir efectos secundarios en las piezas dentales que sirven de anclaje o soporte del aparato. Conclusiones: Los pacientes tratados con el dispositivo hyrax, logran corregir alteraciones del plano transversal por deficiencia ósea, garantizando la solución de las mordidas cruzadas, apiñamiento, línea media y otros beneficios como la ampliación de la región nasal, producto del descenso del paladar. | dc.description.abstract | The deficient formation of the maxillary processes during ordinary development and growth can cause problems in the function and esthetics of patients, favoring the presence of maxillary alterations or posterior crossbites, which initially develop due to triggering factors or habits; where current therapeutic options are established, which are effective for the correction and rehabilitation of the transverse plane. Objective: To determine the efficacy of the Hyrax-type Disjunctor in the treatment of maxillary collapse and posterior crossbite. Materials and Method: The AnalyticSynthetic research method was chosen in this work, thanks to its affinity for the analysis and synthesis of information. The technique used in the elaboration of this work is the bibliographic review, where the information is collected from primary and secondary sources. The instrument used is the Bibliographic Record Card which contains very relevant data about the authors and co-authors. Results: Maxillary expansion with hyrax, is considered the most effective procedure, thanks to its versatile design and orthopedic characteristics for the correction of transverse maxillary deficiencies without producing secondary effects on the dental pieces that serve as anchorage or support of the appliance. Conclusions: Patients treated with the hyrax device are able to correct alterations of the transversal plane due to bone deficiency, guaranteeing the solution of crossbites, crowding, midline, and other benefits such as the enlargement of the nasal region, as a result of the lowering of the palate.
