Healthcare professionals, in their practice, are exposed to experiencing proximity to death, especially when caring for oncology patients. The present study aimed to describe how eight physicians cope with the death of pediatric patients at an Oncological Institute, the study was qualitative, cross-sectional with a descriptive scope, the EBAM was employed to assess competencies, attitudes, and beliefs regarding death. Additionally, a semi structured interview was conducted to gain insights into the physicians' perspectives in the intervention with patients who had dead. The findings suggested that, despite years of clinician experience, confronting death still entails emotional repercussions that demand diverse coping strategies and a continuous need for training throughout the process
