dc.description.abstract	Las verrugas anogenitales consisten en hiperplasias epiteliales benignas, ocasionadas por el virus del papiloma humano (VPH), cuya intensidad de afectación está determinada por el estado inmunológico del huésped. Existen más de 100 serotipos de VPH clasificados en relación a su estructura de ADN y en la piel se manifiestan en diversas formas clínicas, siendo las verrugas anogenitales la enfermedad de trasmisión sexual más frecuente, presente en el 1% de la población sexualmente activa. El presente trabajo de investigación es de tipo observacional, descriptivo, longitudinal, realizado durante un año, donde se evaluó la respuesta terapéutica al imiquimod al 5% crema durante cuatro semanas en pacientes portadores de verrugas anogenitales. Hospital Regional II IESS "Dr. Teodoro Maldonado Carbo", 2013. Durante Enero del 2012 a Enero del 2013, se atendieron por patología por HPV un total de 47 pacientes, de éstos, el promedio de edad fue 33,98 años, e acuerdo al tipo de lesión presentada, 19 pacientes (40,4%) presentó una lesión tipo condiloma, 24 (51,1%) tipo pápula, y 4 (8,5%) de tipo hiperqueratósica. Es la primera vez en esta institución que se utiliza la presente opción terapéutica modificadora de la respuesta inmune y seguramente será de gran beneficio para el científico del servicio y bien de los usuarios.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Anogenital warts consist of benign epithelial hyperplasias, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), whose intensity of affectation is determined by the immune status of the host. There are more than 100 serotypes of HPV classified in relation to their DNA structure and in the skin they are manifested in various clinical forms, with anogenital warts being the most frequent sexually transmitted disease, present in 1% of the sexually active population. The present research work is of observational, descriptive, longitudinal type, carried out during a year, where the therapeutic response to imiquimod was evaluated at 5% cream for four weeks in patients with anogenital warts.
