| dc.description.abstract | Las enfermedades periodontales son condiciones inflamatorias que afectan a los tejidos de soporte, su etiología es la placa bacteriana. Las prótesis dentales pueden influir negativamente en los tejidos periodontales cuando no han sido considerados todos los criterios biológicos. El objetivo del estudio es determinar la prevalencia de enfermedad periodontal en los pacientes portadores de prótesis, que acudieron al área de diagnóstico de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil durante el mes de Enero del 2020 en el periodo académico 2019-2020 CII. Los materiales y métodos utilizados fueron la ficha #033, consentimiento informado, índice PSR, O’Leary y Silness y Loe, periodontograma y dos formularios elaboradas para este trabajo, el método aplicado en la siguiente investigación es de tipo inductivo-deductivo. Se obtuvo una muestra de 72 pacientes portadores de prótesis que presentaron enfermedad periodontal. Se determinó que a mayor tiempo de uso de prótesis tienden a padecer enfermedad periodontal debido a la falta de higiene de la cavidad bucal y de sus prótesis adaptadas. Según el estudio, se encontró mayor incendia de periodontitis en los hombres y en las mujeres gingivitis. Existe una estrecha relación entre el estado de salud de los tejidos periodontales y aditamentos protésicos. Se debe tener en consideración los aspectos biológicos periodontales antes de colocar una prótesis, empezando con un buen diagnóstico, instrucción de la higiene (bucal y de sus prótesis) y el control de los pacientes hasta la finalización del plan de tratamiento. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Periodontal diseases are inflammatory conditions that affect supporting tissues, their etiology is the bacterial plaque. Prostheses can have a negative impact on periodontal tissues when not all biological standard are considered. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of periodontal disease in patients with prostheses, who attended the diagnostic area of the Dentistry Faculty of the University of Guayaquil during January 2020. The materials and methods used were Sheet # 033, informed consent, index PSR, O’Leary and Silness and Loe, periodontogram and two forms developed for this research. The method applied in the following research is deductive-inductive. A sample of 72 prosthetic patients with periodontal disease was obtained and the longer use of prostheses. Furthermore, patients tend to suffer from periodontal disease due to the lack of poor hygiene in the oral cavity and also in the adapted prostheses. According to the study, there was a higher incidence of periodontitis in men and a high incidence of gingivitis in women. There is a close relationship between the state of health of the periodontal tissues and the accompanying prostheses. The periodontal biological aspects must be considered before the prosthesis placed by starting with a good diagnostic, oral hygiene instruction and prostheses, and patient control until the end of the treatment plan | es_ES |
