dc.description.abstractThe ability to speak is important but this is and has been one of the biggest problems that students have during the process of learning the English language. This research aimed to investigate the effect of teaching using phonetic symbols to strengthen English pronunciation for 2nd Baccalaureate in “Arturo Munizaga Palacios” High School. It is a qualitative-quantitative exploratory study in which research instruments such as observation, survey, and interview were utilized. The participants of this research were subject to evaluation that consisted in helping to improve their skills pronunciation. The results of the speech performance test were analyzed statistically; in addition, this indicated that the students have problems to speaking and pronouncing correctly. A practical online guide was designed with exercises of phonetic articulation according to their level, which will help students to develop their oral production skills.es_ES
dc.description.abstractLa habilidad de hablar es importante, este es y ha sido uno de los mayores problemas que tienen los estudiantes durante el proceso de aprendizaje del idioma inglés. La investigación tuvo como objetivo investigar el efecto de la enseñanza usando símbolos fonéticos para ayudar a las habilidades del habla y fortalecer la pronunciación del inglés para el 2º Bachillerato en el Bachillerato “Arturo Munizaga Palacios”. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio cualitativo cuantitativo en el que se utilizaron instrumentos de investigación como observación, encuesta y entrevista. Los participantes de esta investigación fueron sometidos a una evaluación que consistió en ayudar a mejorar sus habilidades de pronunciación. Los resultados de la prueba de rendimiento del habla se analizaron estadísticamente; además, esto indicó que los estudiantes tienen problemas para hablar y pronunciar correctamente. Se diseñó una guía práctica en línea con ejercicios de articulación fonética según su nivel, que ayudará a los estudiantes a desarrollar sus habilidades de producción oral.es_ES
