Resumen
La presente tesis tiene por objeto el análisis de la importancia del aporte socioeconómico del sector turístico al PIB en el cantón General Villamil Playas, periodo 2014 – 2017 mediante la investigación de estrategias en pro de generar incremento turístico y beneficio en la economía, donde cabe destacar que el turismo en general es una opción viable adicional a las actividades económicas tradicionales, donde además, existen estudios que demuestran que es una de las principales fuentes de ingreso de divisas al país. El cantón General Villamil Playas cuenta con riquezas naturales el cual le permite ser un cantón mayoritariamente turístico, el Banco Central del Ecuador (BCE), el Ministerio del Turismo (MINTUR), la Organización Mundial del Turismo (OMT), entre otras organizaciones nacionales como internacionales, brindan las cifras necesarias para el estudio de la evolución e incidencia del turismo en el Ecuador y principalmente en el cantón General Villamil Playas, demostrando que éste pese a que es su principal actividad económica tiene falencias que no permiten que sus ingresos sean significativos al PIB del país.
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the importance of the socio-economic contribution of the tourism sector to GDP in the General Villamil Playas canton, 2014-2017 period by investigating strategies to generate tourism increase and benefit in the economy, where it should be noted that tourism in general is an additional viable option to traditional economic activities, where there are also studies that show that it is one of the main sources of foreign exchange to the country. The canton General Villamil Playas has natural wealth which allows it to be a mainly tourist canton, the Central Bank of Ecuador (ECB), the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), among other national organizations such as international, they provide the necessary figures for the study of the evolution and incidence of tourism in Ecuador and mainly in the General Villamil Playas canton, demonstrating that although it is its main economic activity it has flaws that do not allow its income to be significant to the GDP of the country.
