esultados tanto cualitativos y cuantitativos obtenidos a través cuestionarios
This research aims to analyze the incidence of the English proficiency in the development of professional skills in the international business management. In addition, this work intends to demonstrate that business professionals should be independent users of at least one language different from their mother tongue, preferably English, which is the language of International Business in a dynamic and globalized business environment. Due to the new job - related skills requirements and high level of competition among professionals, an International Trade and Finance expert becomes a highlyvalued prospect if he manages an adequate English proficiency level to meet the labor market needs. This research has a mixed approach where both qualitative and quantitative results attained from surveys conduct to students as well as ews with authorities of the career were analyzed. Through the results obtained, it was possible to identify the main characteristics and needs of the International Trade and Finance students in order to recommend a microcurricular redesign of the English language area which focuses on updating contents, adopting entry and exit requirements of the career, implementing international certifications in the English language proficiency, and finally the description and profile of the English teacher and coordinator with the main purpose of leading eighth semester students to obtain at the end of their education a B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
