Resumen
La educación universitaria online se constituye en una alternativa de equidad para el acceso de un mayor número de estudiantes y en tiempos de emergencia sanitaria en una salida urgente donde la universidad y el hogar se convierten en el mismo lugar. En Ecuador se tiene un exiguo número de carreras universitarias de esta modalidad frente a las presenciales; asimismo, la evidencia documental sobre el trabajo pedagógico desarrollado en estas es insuficiente para examinar su calidad educativa. Este artículo de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las percepciones y experiencias de los actores educativos online sobre el desarrollo de las competencias de alfabetización informacional para especificar transformaciones, avances, debilidades, carencias entre otros aspectos del proceso educativo. La investigación empleó técnicas cuantitativas y cualitativas para la recolección de información de profesores y estudiantes de cinco universidades públicas del Ecuador que cuentan con carreras universitarias online. Los resultados muestran que se ha dado inicio al fortalecimiento de las competencias informacionales de los estudiantes, pero aún se requiere de un modelo universitario online y el trabajo tecnopedagógico colectivo de los actores virtuales.
Online university education is an alternative of equity for the access of a greater number of students and in times of health emergency in an urgent exit where the university and the home become the same place. In Ecuador there is a small number of university degrees of this modality compared to the face-to-face ones; likewise, the documentary evidence on the pedagogical work carried out in these is insufficient to examine their educational quality. This research article aims to analyze the perceptions and experiences of online educational actors on the development of information literacy skills to specify transformations, advances, weaknesses, gaps, among other aspects of the educational process. The research used quantitative and qualitative techniques to collect information from professors and students from five public universities in Ecuador that have online university degrees. The results show that the strengthening of the informational competencies of the students has begun, but an online university model and the collective techno-pedagogical work of the virtual actors are still required.
