- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoInfluence of the use of songs for the improvement of listening comprehension(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-04) León Moran, Carlos Abrahan; Mendoza Suárez, Lorena Johanna; Alvarado Nolivos, HipólitoIt is common knowledge that listening comprehension plays a chief role in communication and in the educational environment when learning a new language. But currently, it is not given the necessary relevance in the classroom, hindering the development of this skill. This fact was evidenced in the second-year BGU students of the Fiscal Educational Unit Cdmte. Rafael Moran Valverde who presented difficulties in listening comprehension in their English classes. Songs are ideal to improve this skill because they provide more meaningful learning, are a source of motivation, work memory and acquire new vocabulary. In conclusion, this study shows that songs play a significant role as a listening resource in the improvement of listening comprehension, so it is proposed to design an activity guide with songs, which allows students to improve their listening skills dynamically.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoMotivational talks in the communicative interaction(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-04) Dávila Bajaña, Tiffany Lisbeth; Fabre Saint Albin, Hodet Juliette; Alvarado Nolivos, HipólitoThis research project aims to determine the influence of Motivational Talks to improve the communicative interaction in English as a foreign language. To accomplish that, it was necessary to identify the difficulties encountered in Tercero de Bachillerato “B” students through proper techniques and instruments to collect the essential information. First, the observation was implemented to know the educational environment and the student performance in class. Then, the survey was applied to the students to understand their perspectives regarding their learning. Finally, the interview with the English teacher in charge was effectuated to know his teaching learning methodology within the teaching-learning process and corroborate their difficulties. Using this information, a proposal was presented for the resolution of the conflict situation, a guide for developing communicative interaction through Motivational Talks. This didactic and pedagogical tool favors students in improving communication skills corresponding to the established level they must have.
